common in Williamson County, covering entire fields with yellow
flowers). It can be found in fields along Wolf Creek Road. The presence
of papillae (tiny nipple-like projections) on the sides of the achene is
a distinguishing characteristic of this taxon. However, in many of our
plants, these papillae are sparse or absent. The pilose calyx also
